The Department for Energy and Climate Change has announced a deadline for homeowners to register their microgeneration system to be eligible for Renewable Heat Incentive payments.
Homeowners looking to capitalise on the domestic RHI scheme when it comes into operation in April 2014, now have until 4pm on 22nd October 2013 to register their previously installed systems on the Migrogeneration Certification Scheme Installation Database (MID).
This deadline applies to household systems that have been installed since July 2009, but not yet registered.
This is a critical date as, without the MCS Certificate, previously installed domestic systems will not be eligible for payments under the RHI and after this date no further such installations can be registered on the MID to obtain that MCS Certificate.
For new installations, rules now require that systems are registered on the MID within ten working days of being installed and commissioned. Failure to register your installation will mean you cannot obtain an MCS certificate and thus will not be eligible for RHI payments.
Here at Yorkshire Heat Pumps our MCS accredited installers can ensure your new system is fully registered and eligible to receive RHI payments and for anyone with a previously installed system we will be happy to advise you on how to go about registration.
